Beijing, 18th November 2024 (BISTU)--- Sponsored by BISTU, the 2nd National Young Scholars Academic Forum for Integrable System and Soliton Theory & Symposium for Mathematic Studies at BISTU was successfully held from 15th to 17th November 2024 in Beijing. The Forum was joined by over 180 experts and scholars from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Fudan University, University of Science and Technology of China, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Beihang University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, etc. to share the latest progresses in relating fields. Vice President Xiao Zhisong addressed the opening ceremony chaired by Dean Wang Aiwen of College of Applied Science.

On behalf of BISTU, Xiao Zhisong extended warm welcome and sincere thanks to all experts and scholars and offered an introduction to BISTU. Xiao Zhisong pointed out that BISTU, with substantial support from Beijing Municipality, is a comprehensive university with a complete set of academic disciplines and distinctive feature in information technology. He hoped that the Forum would strengthen in-depth exchange and communication among scholars in the field of integrable system and soliton theory and facilitate high-quality development of mathematic studies at BISTU.

Research Fellow Yan Zhenya, winner of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and researcher of Academy of Mathematics and Systems Sciences of Chinese Academy of Sciences, addressed the opening ceremony.

Academic reports were delivered on latest achievements and progresses in Frobenius manifolds and variety of integrable equation, theory and application of soliton, Riemann-Hilbert in integrable systems, random matrix and integrable systems, deep learning in integrable systems, discrete integrable systems, symmetric and arithmetic structure of integrable systems, integrable turbulence and freak wave, etc.

Seminar on development of mathematic studies at BISTU, chaired by Executive Deputy Dean Zhou Zhehai of Graduate School, was held on 17th November 2024. Wang Aiwen informed the experts and scholars of progresses with mathematic studies at BISTU. Valuable suggestions were produced by Prof. Qu Changzheng of Ningbo University (winner of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars), Prof. Zhang Youjin of Tsinghua University, Prof. Lou Senyue of Ningbo University, Research Fellow Yan Zhenya of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Zhang Dajun of Shanghai University, and Prof. Liu Xiaochuan of Xi’an Jiaotong University. The discussions were also joined by Chairperson Li Wanfu of College Council of Applied Science College and Deputy Dean Wen Xiaoyong of the College.

The Forum provided a sound platform for researchers and faculty to learn more about frontier researches in relating fields. BISTU, with its solid foundation in mathematic studies and strong influence in industries, is witnessing a great future. Attendees of the Forum commented.
