Beijing, 6th June, 2017 (BISTU)--- Cooperation between BISTU and Nanyang Institute of Technology (NYIST) in a full range of academic areas commences on signing ceremony of Beijing-Henan Universities Cooperation Agreement signed by President Wang Yongsheng and other presidents. According to the Agreement, BISTU and NYIST will work together to explore collaboration in respect of education, academic exchange, coordinated innovation, discipline construction, and staff development. 　　  

Immediately after the signing ceremony held in Zhengzhou, Wang Yongsheng and BISTU delegation leave for Nanyang and meet with senior administration of NYIST to implement the Agreement.  

Beijing Municipal Education Commission and Education Department of Henan Province sign Cooperative Agreement on Higher Education in August 2016. To implement the Agreement, Beijing Municipality chooses 10 municipal-supervised universities as the first cohort to conduct all-around one-to-one collaboration with 10 provincial-supervised institutions in order to promote higher educational development in Henan Province. As arranged by both Commissions, BISTU is to work with NYIST.  

Located in Nanyang, a historical famous city of Henan Province, NYIST starts in 1987 and is officially established in 1993. In 2004 it is promoted as an institution entitled to undergraduate education. NYIST covers an area of 2,000 mu (around 140 hectares) with a student enrollment of 23,000. The Institute focuses on undergraduate education with its 49 undergraduate programs in 9 disciplines. The programs are similar to those at BISTU and hence form sound foundation for long-term cooperation between the two institutions.  

The delegation members are Lin Guoce, Assistant to VP of BISTU, Lu Lei, Director of Organizational Department, Wang Xingfen, Director of Academic Affairs Office, Xing Jishou, Director of Science and Technology Division, and Chen Xin, Director of Human Resources Division.
