Beijing, 27th September 2023 (BISTU)--- Aiming at learning and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on education and comprehensively improve service for students, the One-stop Student Services Center was officially launched on 27th September 2023, symbolizing a new progress in student service. The launching ceremony was attended by Secretary Xie Jiangling of CPC BISTU Committee and President Guo Fu.
Aiming at “one visit for all”, the One-stop Student Services Center aligned with the general requirements of Ministry of Education and satisfied demand of services by students in everyday learning and life with high quality services. The Center covered an area of 328 square meters, with 14 work stations involving 27 service items offered by 13 divisions and offices in respect of undergraduate affairs, postgraduate affairs, international exchange and cooperation, fees, employment and career consultancy, residential registration, financial aid, logistics, and library.

Then Xie Jiangling and Guo Fu visited the Center and experienced the intelligent robots and service terminals of the Center to learn about operations and maintenance of the Center. Xie Jiangling and Guo Fu stressed that the “student-centered and service-centered” principle should be strictly followed. We were to lessen students’ workload in administrative affairs by utilizing data technology. It would greatly improve service standard and promote high quality development of the University. Xie Jiangling and Guo Fu said.
Zhang Yixuan majoring Translation at School of Foreign Studies commented on her experience of replacing her certificate of youth league member at No. 10 work station: “Previously it was an one-off procedure in each semester. The new one-stop service stations allow me much more conveniences. It is terrific, just like tailored services for students.” Meng Qingzhao majoring in Communications Engineering at School of Communication Engineering experienced employment consultancy at No. 8 working station and was very happy with it: “I used to spend time in booking an appointment for such consultancy. Now I just come over here and have a face-to-face talk with teachers. I am sure more students would come.” Wang Xujia of School of Foreign Studies wanted to know more about changing major:“I learned that a student service center was launched and so here I am. The teachers are very nice and patient.” Ren Ruoshui, the teacher of No. 7 working station for network management, said that “the One-stop Student Service Center does bring much convenience to students, particularly when they need to handle issues involving a number of divisions and offices. Student card issued by Network Center is actually also linked to Security and Safety Office and Logistics Department. Students would get everything done here.”
The launching ceremony was chaired by Deputy Secretary Wang Wenjie of CPC BISTU Committee. He expressed that the University would continue to strengthen party building and political and ideological education to make a one-stop student community for the last mile in student service.
Director Zhang Jingbo of Students Affairs Office offered an introduction to One-stop Student Service Center. Representing all work stations, Wang Hailu of Logistics Department said they would guarantee the quality of service and provide the best services with students.
The launching ceremony was attended by directors of related offices and divisions, deputy secretaries of BISTU schools (being responsible for students affairs), representatives of faculties and staff for work stations, and representatives of students.
