Beijing, 10th December 2025 (BISTU)--- Chairperson Xie Jiangling of BISTU University Council conducted a survey at Astra Residential College to facilitate high-quality development of the College.

Xie Jiangling chaired a seminar on work relating to teaching, student administration, campus management, and construction of the Campus. He spoke highly of the effort and contributions of all faculty and staff of the College. Astra Residential College has been working with a concerted manner to overcome difficulties, despite of the multi-fold barriers in reality.

Xie Jiangling commented that there were five areas deserving enough attention. First, party building should be integrated into development of the College, i.e., nurturing a highly recognizable brand of party building. Second, it was necessary to strengthen coordination with all department of the University for better educational quality at the College. Third, facing with challenges in respect of campus operation and talent cultivation, the College should be bold to take innovative, pioneering steps. Fourth, student-centered philosophy remained a core principle of the College. The College should attach importance to psychological wellbeing of students, address students’ needs in a timely manner, and provide sufficient academic support. We were to boost construction of a campus of warmth, vitality, and calmness. And fifth, the educational characteristics of the College in coordinated education among local government, industries, enterprises, and the College should be highlighted under the context of coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei.

Xie Jiangling then conducted inspection on facilities such as master control room, student dining hall, college medical room, library, etc. as well as a number of labs including the lab of digital design and digital twin in intelligent manufacturing, the lab of intelligent energy system, and the lab of solar power generation.

All administrators of Astra Residential College joined the survey.
