Beijing, 7th March, 2018 (BISTU)— A thorough understanding of international exchange would help students both in their life and learning, Vice President Xu Baojie says on Opening ceremony for Campaign of BISTU International Exchange hosted by Dr. Lu Jing, Director of International Exchange Department and attended by Students’ Affairs Office Director Guo Yinhui and Deputy Director Lv Yong of Teaching Affairs Office.

Xu Baojie stresses that one of BISTU primary goals is to nurture talents of applied learning who have strong practical competences, innovative awareness and international awareness. Opening up has played a vital role in China’s achievements. International exchange is an inseparable part of opening up policy. It is a necessary move for BISTU to learn from strengths of universities abroad so as to nurture more talents of excellence for the country. BISTU has established partnership with over 60 universities abroad and initiated a series of quality exchange projects. It is hoped that in this campaign month (March 2018) students would know more about these projects to seize the opportunity of broadening their international horizon and better serve the society.

Guo Yinhui encourages students to make early preparations for international exchange in respect of language proficiency. As international exchange ambassadors, students who attend international projects could improve qualities, experience educational and cultural differences, and reach their best potentials. BISTU will try best to provide due service.

Lv Yong says that students who have attended international exchange projects have greatly improved their competences and thus obtained opportunity of having more choices in their future. Teaching Affairs Office have made thorough and flexible rules on credit transfer of various projects to make sure exchange students could get degrees and diplomas when they meet relating requirements. He encourages students to be better, psychologically prepared and actively participate in these international projects in an open mind.
The opening ceremony is also attended by deans, department chairs, faculties and students of School of Electromechanical Engineering, School of Economics and Management, School of Media and Public Administration, and School of Foreign Studies.
Following the opening ceremony, faculties of International Exchange Department publish a list of long and short term international exchange projects in 2018 and answers students’ questions. March of each year is the campaign month for BISTU international exchange projects. All the projects will be displays in various media such as on-site meetings, internet, new media, LED screens, show windows, etc. Also International Exchange Department will invite partner universities to hold presentations on BISTU campuses.
