BISTU Delegation Headed by Wang Yongsheng Visit BMBEIT

 

Beijing, 13th January, 2021 (BISTU)— Headed by President Wang Yongsheng, BISTU delegation visits Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology (BMBEIT) for information exchange and exploration of future collaboration. The delegation members include Vice President Ma Qinghong, Vice President Zhang Lin, Vice President Chen Xin, and directors of relating divisions. Secretary & Director Yang Xiuling of BMBEIT, accompanied by directors of relating offices of the Bureau, meets with Wang Yongsheng and BISTU delegation members.  

 

Wang Yongsheng extends sincere thanks to BMBEIT for their support with development of the University. Following an introduction to history, development, and current progress of the University, Wang Yongsheng expresses that BISTU has made great achievements in respect of academic discipline construction, academic research, talent cultivation, construction of the New Campus, application for approval of doctoral programs, and appraisal of undergraduate teaching. Wang Yongsheng says that BISTU has been dedicated to building a high level university with distinctive features in information technology. It is expected that collaboration between BISTU and BMBEIT would be fully explored so as to contribute to construction of Beijing as “four centers” and building Beijing as a smart city.  

Extending warm welcome to BISTU delegation, Yang Xiuling offers a brief introduction to BMBEIT with focus on latest progress in respect of smart city construction in Beijing. Yang Xiuling expresses that BISTU is a high level university with substantial support from municipal government. It is an institution with distinctive features in information technology and has evident comparative strengths in big data and smart city construction. BMBEIT will explore collaboration with BISTU in respect of postgraduate education and academic research. Both institutions would spare no efforts to make due contribution to social and economic development of Beijing.   

 

Centering on big data and smart city construction, both institutions explore possibility and feasibility of future cooperation and negotiate on relating details.
