Beijing, 28th October 2024 (BISTU)--- The 2nd Academic Summit for Intellisense Technology and System held from 25th to 27th October 2024 in Lanxi of Zhejiang Province successfully completed. Sponsored by China Instrument and Control Society and jointly organized by BISTU, Hefei University of Technology, China Jiliang University, and China University of Petroleum East China, the Summit greeted over 150 renowned scholars and experts, including Academician Jiang Huilin, Academician Qiu Zhiming, Academician Li Jindong, and Academician Wang Haifu of Chinese Academy of Engineering and Liu Honghai, Member of Academia Europaea. The opening ceremony was addressed via video links by Academician Bao Weimin of Chinese Academy of Sciences (Member of International Academy of Astronautics, Vice President of China Association for Science and Technology, Director of Science and Technology Commission of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, and Chairman of the Summit) and Academician You Zheng of Chinese Academy of Engineering (Vice President of China Association for Science and Technology, President of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Chairman of the Summit). President Guo Fu, Chairman of the Summit, joined the summit and addressed the opening ceremony.

Guo Fu extended warm congratulations to the Summit. He pointed out that science and technology have never been so closely connected to national development and people’s wellbeing. Development and application of artificial intelligence is playing a vital role in the new round of science and technology revolution. Intellisense technology, as an important orientation of AI development, is empowering a number of areas such as intelligent manufacturing and precision engineering. This Summit gathered academicians, experts and young scholars in the field of artificial intelligence to share the frontier discoveries and motivate new-thinking for academic research, which will facilitate innovative application and high-quality development of artificial intelligence industry in China.

Following an introduction to BISTU and research and practices of the University in artificial intelligence, Guo Fu pointed out that the University centered on core demand of high-tech, advanced, precision industries such as information technology, integrated circuit, and intelligent manufacturing. We have made a series of breakthroughs in the area of intellisense, intelligent equipment, intelligent decision-making, etc. It was hoped that the Summit would provide the opportunity for BISTU to build up “information plus and intelligence plus”based learning and research, promote integrated development of education, sci-tech, and talent, and make greater contributions to our nation.

The Summit covers frontier technologies in artificial intelligence. Scholars and experts explored frontier research, application, and industrial development of intellisense technology and high-end sensors in the field of aeronautics and astronautics, advanced manufacturing, marine equipment, intelligent medical treatment, etc. Prof. Zhu Lianqing of School of Instrumental Science and Opto-electronic Engineering delivered an invited report on Application of Fiber Optic Sensing Technology in Aeronautics and Astronautics. The report analyzed application of fiber optic sensing technology in high resolution remote sensing satellites and China’s space station. It offered important reference for research and development of in-orbit monitoring technology for new generation of aviation and space equipment.

The Summit was joined by Vice President Chen Xin and directors and deans of General Administration Office, Office for Scientific Research, Postgraduate School, and School of Instrumental Science and Opto-electronic Engineering.
