Beijing, 24th May, 2017 (BISTU)— Beijing Information Science and Technology University Hold Cultural Festival to Promote Fine Traditional Culture, says a Xinhua New report on BISTU’s traditional culture activities “Fine Traditional Culture and Me”. 　　 

The series of activities aim at implementing spirit of President Xi Jinping’s speeches and spirit of national conference on ideological construction in higher educational institutions, sparing no efforts to promoting Construction of Five Environments, implementing key projects of the University’s 13th Five-year Plan, centering on ethical education, and developing effective pathway of education with culture.  

The Day of Traditional Culture is a part of the ongoing BISTU’s first art and cultural festival, which displays distinctive spiritual content and attraction of fine traditional Chinese culture via campus cultural activities that are new in form and rich in content. It is aimed at the objective that young people shall get close contact with fine traditional culture, love the culture, and apply the culture to their life and learning.    

The activities of “Fine Traditional Culture and Me” attract over 2,500 faculties and students to enjoy the interactive cultural garden party organized by 21 student associations of traditional culture. Vice Presidents Wang Xiuyan, Feng Xiaochun and Xu Baojie attend the activities and enjoy arts and works of fine traditional culture made by faculties and students. They encourage students and faculties to actively advocate fine traditional Chinese culture in both theory and practice.  

During the interaction, enlightenment of Chinese chess surprises spectators with the art of white and black. Martial arts show the essence of thousands of years of heritage with performers’ free flowing style of stage performance. Chinese paper cut offers the blank places artistic vitality. Chinese comic dialogue brings audiences the experiences of enjoying the beauty of language. Calligraphy carries long established cultural heritage. Photography captures the most beautiful moments of our life. Traditional poems and lyrics in Tang and Song dynasties remain shining in the corridor of Chinese culture. And Peking Opera also shows its unique attraction.  　　  

On 23^rd May, BISTU organizes joint performance of Chinese traditional culture at University Students’ Art Center. Attraction and fine quality of traditional culture is fully displayed in the form of drama, stage comedy, comic dialogue, traditional calligraphy and painting, martial arts, paper cut, and folk music. Over 400 spectators enjoy the performance and simultaneously speak out slogan of this festival: we will be together with traditional culture. And they express that it is a divine responsibility to learn, inherit and promote fine traditional Chinese culture.  

In previous section of the festival the University also holds campus poem writing party, reader of traditional classic works, etc. According to faculties and students, the series of activities promote fine traditional Chinese culture and help create a cultural education environment of multi-level, multi-perspective and broad horizon.
