Beijing, 23rd September 2023 (BISTU)--- The Conference of Leading Group for Foreign Affairs at BISTU successfully completed on 22nd September 2023 at Taihanglu Campus. The Conference, addressed by President Guo Fu (the Leader of the Leading Group for Foreign Affairs at BISTU), aimed at forming synergy at BISTU for cultivation of globalized talents, staff development, academic research, and educational management to promote high quality development of education globalization.  

Guo Fu raised requests on educational globalization at BISTU in five aspects. First, accumulating resources. We were to actively expand channels for students’ exchange, promoting cooperation with renowned universities in the world, and providing students with diversified, globalized resources. Second, strengthening collaboration. It was necessary to conduct in-depth analysis on features and advantages of international cooperation at BISTU and locate global partners from the perspective of academic discipline construction and talent cultivation. Third, promoting staff development. It was expected to build a staff development model of “combination of abroad-introduction and self-reliance-based cultivation”, set up diversified international exchange and communication platforms for faculties, and constantly enhance international awareness of faculties. Fourth, perfecting mechanism of international cooperation, i.e., enhancing appraisal of working performance in the field of educational globalization. And fifth, building up reputation and enhancing school-running competence to improve international influence of the University.  

Vice President Xiao Zhisong (Deputy Leader of the Leading Group for Foreign Affairs at BISTU) stressed that all schools, divisions, and offices of the University should follow this guideline to facilitate educational globalization in respect of talent cultivation, staff development, academic research collaboration, and management model.  

Director Qu Li of International Cooperation Department (Dean of International Education School) delivered a report on annual progresses of educational globalization at the University, issues concerning the 14th Five Year Plan, international students, and relating mechanisms and regulations on educational globalization.  

The Conference, attended by Director Li Huatao of Organizational Department (member of Standing Committee of CPC BISTU Committee), directors of related divisions and offices, and deans and secretaries of BISTU schools, also reviewed BISTU Regulations for International Students.
