Beijing, 9th June 2023 (BISTU)--- BISTU delegation headed by Deputy Secretary Wang Wenjie of CPC BISTU Committee visited Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xidian University, Shaanxi Normal University, and Chang’an University to carry out the thematic education on learning and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and to learn from successful experiences and practices of sister schools in ideological and political education. The delegation, composed of directors of Students Affairs Office and deputy secretaries of BISTU schools, met with Vice President Zhan Hao of Northwestern Polytechnical University, Vice President Ren Xiaolong of Xidian University, and Deputy Secretary Luo Yonghui of CPC Shaanxi Normal University Committee.  

Wang Wenjie offered detailed introduction to BISTU in respect of history, school-running principles, and educational features and explained our glorious history of holding banners of “saving our nation by engaging in industry”, “dedicating ourselves to the service of the country with industrial development”, and “building a nation of information technology” in the past 86 years. BISTU’s educational features in information technology and industries were highlighted in serving the development of Beijing and building Beijing into “four centers”. Wang Wenjie expressed that effective practices and valuable experiences of sister schools in respect of innovative development, school-running principles, and ideological and political education would provide beneficial reference for BISTU. It was hoped that inter-university communication and exchange would be strengthened and cooperation would be conducted on higher levels and in broader areas to achieve mutual development. Wang Wenjie stressed that the thematic education was a precious opportunity for us to identify problems and find solutions. We would strengthen coordination between different divisions and offices to promote ideological and political education and to provide support with all-round development of students.  

Wang Wenjie and delegation members visited Student Service Hall of Northwester Polytechnical University, Haitang No.3 Academy and AI + Education Center of Xidian University, highway transportation museum of Chang’an University, and Education Museum and student communities of Shaanxi Normal University. Corresponding seminars and discussion were held with faculties and staff of Students Affairs Office, Postgraduate Office, students’ halls of residence, etc. of sister schools on talent cultivation, reform of education, one-stop service in student communities, etc.
